SWY13 - Open Forum

Maria Carme Feliu Latorre (SWY13, Spain) is now a Japanese Language Teacher and Director (Nipponia. Japanese Language and Culture Center in Girona) and a Lawyer (from September 08). After SWY, in 2003, Opened Nipponia, a center devoted to Japanese Language and Culture in Girona: I was teaching up to 6 levels of Japanese language and culture, organising conferences and events (tea ceremony, manga and anime, travelling around Japan, haiku and literature, food, origami, matsuri, musicc). After Ren 2004, Nipponia began a Penpal Project letter exchange with a High School class in Okinawa, Japan in Japanese/English/Spanish. July 2007: Attended a meeting organized by the Japanese Consulate in Barcelona to create a board of ex-participants to several programmes sponsored by the Japanese Government (currently under creation). June 2008: Law Degree, University of Girona.
I joined the following youth organizations. 1990-94: Founding member and youth instructor, L'Ateneu, environmental education centre: www.ateneunaturalista.org Since 2006: Collaboration with youth organizations on Japanese culture in Girona: Aula Manga, Otaku Girona, Japanzone, and so on.
I also joined the following international exchange programs. July 1983: Cessenatico, Italy (Student exchange, Girona's Town Hall). July 1988-1991: Devon, UK. (Student exchange, Girona's High School)July-august 1992-1995: Homestay in Oregon and California, USA. 1997-1998: Japanese Language Institute, Jochi Daigaku, Tokyo, Japan (1-year scholarship, as part of my Translation degree) and Japanese homestay. 2006-2007: University College London, Faculty of Laws (Erasmus Programme).

CONSTANZA JIMENEZ (SWY13, Spain) is now a translator. After SWY, in 2004 I was able to join the Ren program, a very fruitful experience and in 2005 I joined the international Ren meeting held in Greece, where I had the chance to meet new SWY family members from different countries. I also joined the Renaissance 2004.

@ ESTHER GALAN (SWY13, Spain) is now a Director Assistant and a Facilities Manager. After SWY, I Graduated in Translation & Interpreting, Sworn Interpreter for the Spanish Foreign Affairs Ministry, 2001. Master on Protocol & Institutional Relationships, 2003. Japanese Interpreter in Madrid Police Stations, 2004: translating tasks for those Japanese tourists being robbed during their stay in Madrid.

JUAN SEBASTIAN BETANCOR DOMINGUEZ (SWY13, Spain) is now a Filmmaker. After SWY, I have openned my own film production company called Siddhartha Films and made several documentary, such us "Children of the Silver Mountain" about the dreadful lives and working conditions of Bolivian Miners. This documentary was awarded in ParisLHuman Rights Film Festival.
I joined the following international exchange programs. One month in Oxford, homestay (1988). Senior High School year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, boarding school (1990-1991). University in New York (NYU Tisch School of the Arts) (1992-1997).

@ Tamara Diez Otero (SWY13, Spain) is now working for the local administration. A Technique on Tourism, Cunit Town Hall, Tarragona, Spain. After SWY I was able to work in the Olympics and working for an airline. I was helping to develop the SWYAA Spain. I joined the Erasmus & Leonardo European Mobility programs.
